Fast food, Fast Cash

More from South Magazine’s Professional issue.  One of the really cool assignments I had for this past issue went by the working title “Fast Food, Fast Money”.  That changed as you see below, but the idea of franchising and how successful it is (when done right) did not.  I had the opportunity to visit with and photograph five different franchise owners in the Savannah area.  Some represented the biggest of the big like Burger King and others were a little more regional like Shane’s Rib Shack.  Despite there place on the franchise list they all offered up free lunch after the shoot and to a photographer that can be as good as gold depending on the day.  All in all I made some new friends and took some pretty cool pictures.  The Hutchinson Island International Ferrari meet reminded me of one of these shoots.  Meet Alex Salguerio, Entrepreneur, Burger King owner, and collector of fine motor vehicles.  Nothing says fast cash like a Shelby Cobra and a Ferrari f430 Spyder, both red for good measure.  Alex was great.  We made portraits inside Burger King and then stepped out for the portrait you see below.  Sun directly over head, midday, I wasn’t optimistic about the shot but we lined em’ up and went with it.  AB1600 full blast through a large octa and then I let the sun do the rest.  Probably shoot around f18-f-22. 1/250sec.  It made a great opener for the spread.  Stay tuned and I will try to post some more from the assignment…
